Musical and then multimedia translation project of Duccio Demetrio's 28 Symbolic Gardens from »Di che giardino sei? Conoscersi attraverso un simbolo / What's Your Garden? Self-knowledge through a Symbol«, »a book dedicated above all to the pleasure of learning the art of the autobiographical tale, starting from the memories of the garden owned or never known«, in which the intimate relationship with nature becomes self-knowledge. Musical translation, realized by Manuel Chieregato with a first process, later radicalized with musical pictography, of progressive reduction of scores of the past to the dot and the line; organized in »Books for Change«, which derive, by varying them, conception and denomination from the translation of the I-Ching by John Blofeld. Multimedia translation, that begins where the compositional process ends up revealing the bare structure and intrinsic beauty of the musical scores. Evocative use of technology among magical thoughts in the ὕλη of Praladrit, which welcomes and informs a project, which is the daily exercise of a path aimed at the essential, which began with the literal renunciation by its two main authors of all unnecessary material goods and largely developed with obsolete technological means always in dialogue with AI.

»GARDENS«

The project that aims to develop artistic products

that involve all five senses!

»Gardens« is: (1) project with unknown and unpredictable outcomes, in which its principles, defined and dynamic, are not calculation; (2) conflict of opposites (Heraclitean πόλεμος), which produces perfect harmony; (3) adrenaline of profane gambling (alea) and bliss of divine play (लीला); (4) crisis, in which it is necessary to know how to choose (κρίνω) and improvise; (5) fear and desire when faced with dangers and crossroads (危機); (6) risk (危) of traditional and consolidated balances, that are now breaking down, and opportunities (機) to discover new worlds; (7) labyrinthine narrative, which unfolds along the way, just as the paths of Antonio Machado are made by walking; (8) roads without a map, which the authors trace together with their interpreters and which with theirs intertwine among magical thoughts in the ὕλη of Praladrit; (9) return to the One, embryo of universes, reality that arouses possibilities, continuous creation of beginnings, eternal generative mutation, inner generation of new awareness and recovery of identities; (10) interactive relationship between co-authors and technology, which is creative analysis for fantastic expansion, evocation and challenge of innovative wisdom, adventure on the borders of art and science, perennial reinvention of creative tools, experiment without experimentalism, surprise experimentation among surprises shocking by naturalness, qualitative splendor of new dawns, unprecedented transport among magical thoughts in the ὕλη of Praladrit.

Each Garden represents a forgotten or neglected reality of our life and society, which can be rediscovered and interiorized, thanks to the dream transfiguration, realized, in the context of this project, with both music and any other artistic discipline: »Gardens« is in fact also a sensory journey, in which everyone can recognize the opportunity, to research their own deepest and most unexpressed reality, actively exploring their own inner worlds, in an attempt to save them from oblivion, to which they had been confined.

PRALADRIT ART COLLECTIVE

EXTENDS ITS MOST SINCERE THANKS TO

DUCCIO DEMETRIO

On the occasion of the 2023 edition of Paratissima in Turin, the music of »Gardens« was presented into a ready-made by Tiziana Comis-Rogger, who, for the second time after the Aosta exhibition in 2018, returns to use the symbolism of the cage, relevant to the concepts of many of our 28 Gardens: vase decoration at least since Greece in the VI century BC, decorative element in gold and silver, full of scented birds in enamel, precious metals and gems in the court palaces of Charles V of France, and in iron in the palaces of Isabeau of Bavaria, liturgical implement of religious celebrations; symbol of a whole world of meanings, in fact, the cage is a visual expression not only of problems, tribulations, discomfort, indecision, fear, closure, restriction, oppression, lack of true friends and death, but also refuge, ideality, impulses, desires, adventure, sociability, growth, escape, superiority, triumph, conquest and loss of freedom, wish for new life, liberation, rebirth and resurrection.
